The preferred citation style for the Relic Curation Project is Chicago Manual of Style.
The Chicago Manual of Style is frequently used in History, as its footnote/endnote and bibliography are useful for emphasizing on precise source origins in History writings.
The basic format consists of a number that is assigned to a particular fact in the text, and a footnote with the corresponding number appears at the bottom of the same page, listing the source to the text. At the end of the paper, there is a bibliography list (in alphabetical order) detailing all the sources that have been cited in the paper, along with other works that were consulted but not directly cited:
To find out more, you can access the Quick Guide online, check out the Detailed Guide (by Purdue Online Writing Lab), or consult the print copy in the Library.
(Adopted from Chicago Manual of Style 16th Edition)
There are no standardised Chinese citation styles available. The key is to be consistent in the way you cite. Please refer to the 參考書目格式 handout (available on Blackboard) given out by your professor.
