Course Enhancement Funds @ HKBU

Part of the UGC Teaching & Learning Project on enhancing information literacy in Hong Kong higher education.

Important Dates

All the course enhancement must be implemented before 31 March 2018. In order to facilitate the application process, we provide two application cycles for you to apply for the fund:

  • 1st round application: for courses in the 2016/2017 academic year 
  • 2nd round application: for courses from the 2017/2018 academic year onwards

Important dates and deadlines for submitting application materials are as follows:

Deadline for preliminary proposal submission:

29 Aug, 2016

On a rolling basis

Deadline for final proposal submission:

 31 Aug, 2016

Announcement of results:

15 Sep, 2016

On a rolling basis

Deadline for usage of fund:

31 Mar, 2018

Note: Upon receiving the preliminary proposal, the Library may be in contact to discuss ideas for revision/enhancement. These will then be incorporated into the final proposal.

Please email the completed proposal to Information Services Librarians Chloe Lei (chloelei@hkbu.edu.hk) or Jennifer Gu (jennifergu@hkbu.edu.hk).

Upon receiving the preliminary proposal, the Library may be in contact to discuss ideas for revising the proposal, which will be developed into the final proposal.   

Selection Criteria

A proposal review panel will assess the applications and make a recommendation on whether to approve the application for funding based on the extent to which the following points are satisfactorily addressed in the application:

  • The degree to which the proposed course enhancements address student information literacy needs and enhance student learning outcomes through developing student subject related information literacy practices and dispositions.
  • Creativity and innovation demonstrated by the proposed course enhancement
  • Sustainability of the proposed course enhancements beyond the funding period.
  • Adequate and appropriate assessment of student learning outcomes.
