Help with Citations

According to the Honours Project Handbook, the citation style that you use depends on the language of your Project.

For Projects written in English:

Use Turabian style as described in A Manual for Writers of Research Papers, Theses, and Dissertations. Some resources to help you:

• A Quick Guide to Turabian from the University of Chicago Press
• As Turabian is nearly identical to Chicago Style, our guide to Chicago Style will be useful
• A copy of the full style manual is in the Library collection

For Projects written in Chinese:

Follow the requirements laid out in the Honours Project Handbook.

Reference Management Software

Organizing and citing your sources can be challenging, but fortunately there are software tools to help you. These allow you to:

• Save copies of the sources that you have found, and back them up to the cloud
• Make notes and highlights on PDF copies that you have saved
• Automatically generate in-text citations and bibliographies

While many different options exist, the Library recommends using EndNote if you don't already use a particular reference manager. You can get free access via the Library's subscription. Refer to our EndNote guide for details.:
