Access our Library

Use your Student ID Card or Student e-card (except Shek Mun Campus Library) to enter the libraries and borrow library materials.

Loan Quota & Period

Find out the Loan Quota for different user types. 

The loan period of books in the General Collection for all users is 20 weeks with unlimited renewal unless the book is recalled or requested by other users.  

Held Book Delivery Service 

This is a new library service at a fee. Library users can request their held book(s) be delivered by SF Express to their homes or for collection at SF locker location or its stores.

Self Check Machine

One Self-Check Machine  is located on Level 3 in the Main Library.

Book Drops

The Library provides 24 hour book drops at different locations around campus.

My Library Account 

You can check due date and renew your loan items via your library account.
Read "About My Library Account" for more details. 

JULAC Library Card 

Eligible HKBU students and staff can apply for JULAC Library Card (Joint University Librarians Advisory Committee Library Card) to access other UGC-funded libraries. 
Apply online for the JULAC Library Card.

Books not available @ HKBU 

Eligible users can search and request books from other UGC-funded university libraries via HKALL (Hong Kong Academic Library Link) Service. 

Digital Equipments Loaning Service

Main Library

You can borrow Laptops / Macbooks or other computer equipments at the User Services Counter of the Main Library (Level 3). Please note, these laptops are for use within the Library only. You can find out more on the Digital Equipment for loan page. 

Shek Mun Campus Library 

A Laptop Loaning Service is also available at the Shek Mun Campus Library.
