  • ​All those eligible to enter the Main Library may make use of our Octopus printing facilities.
  • Both black-and-white and colour printing are available.

Step-by-Step Guide to Printing Using Your Octopus Card

 

1. Select "Lib-Octopus-Black and White" or "Lib-Octopus-Colour" according to your needs and click "Print".

2. Select the printer closest to you from the list. Input a "Login Name" and "Password" of your own choice, then click "Submit"

* Note that this Login Name and Password is simply to allow the printer to identify your print job, and is NOT related to your BU SSOID or your Library Account.
* For HKBU students and staff, we recommend using your student/staff ID number as your Login Name for ease of identification.


             
 

3. Walk over to the Octopus control panel next to the printer, and select "Print".        

 

4. Select "Use Octopus".
 

5. Insert your Octopus card and press "Confirm".              
 

 

6. Enter the "Login Name" & "Password" that you chose in Step 2, then press "Login".

7. Press "Web Print" on the Octopus Control Panel.                     


​ 8. Select the files for printing and press "Confirm to Print".


 

9. Press "Finish Printing" when all pages have printed.  

      

10. Press "Confirm" and take out your Octopus card.

* Ignore the options on this screen, which are applicable to ITO printing services only .

If you encounter any problems or need help using your Octopus Card, please enquire at the User Services Counter on Level 3.

You can also ask at this counter if there is a problem with the quality of your printing (e.g. toner issues, missing pages, etc.).
