Avoid Uploading E-resource Content to AI Tools
E-resource content should not be used in combination with third-party AI tools (including HKBU ChatGPT). Uploading of licensed content to AI tools results in the sharing of copyrighted materials with unauthorised third parties, infringing the rights of the e-resource provider.
Consensus is an AI-powered tool designed to help students and researchers quickly summarize and understand scholarly papers. It is a search engine that uses natural language processing techniques to analyze and extract key information from research articles, providing concise summaries and highlighting important points.
The Library has arranged to provide unlimited access to Consensus’s premium features to the HKBU community. Simply register for an account with your HKBU email address.
Scite.ai - A platform that provides context for citations and classifies whether citations provide supporting or contrasting evidence for the cited claim.
Elicit - A web application that helps users extract structured information like facts, events, entities from documents.
Research Rabbit - A web platform that helps users filter academic research results to find the most credible studies on any topic.
Connected Papers - Tool for exploring the connections between scholarly papers in a visual graph.

GPTZero - A tool created by a college student to help educators.
Fictitious.ai - An AI detector that integrates with Canvas LMS.
AI Writing Check - A free service provided by Quill and CommonLit.
Writer's AI Content Detector - Created for web designers by available to anyone.
Quillbot AI Plagiarism Checker - A tool that analyzes whether any section of your text did not properly attribute authorship to content already published on the web or in books, research papers, academic papers, or news sources.
Gamma - An AI-driven tool designed to assist in the creation of presentations, webpages, and documents. It automatically generates high-quality and engaging content and allows users to refine and customize this content using its AI generator. Free plan available.
Presentations.ai - A tool that allows users to create presentation slides by prompts. Free trial for a limited time.
Slidesgo - An AI presentation generator that creates slides based on the user's chosen topic, tone, and style, offering the added benefit of online customization. This tool leverages AI for layout suggestions, content organization, and visual enhancements. Free plan available.
HKBU GenAI Platform - The HKBU GenAI Platform provides an AI chatbot for users to get answers to questions and inquiries through the website https://chatgpt.hkbu.edu.hk. By logging in with your HKBU SSOid, you can interact with the ChatGPT chatbot.
ChatGPT (Not currently supported in Hong Kong) - ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI, is an AI tool that makes text like a human would for chatbots. It is proficient in responding to inquiries, mimicking intricate dialogues, authoring various types of content, and even performing coding tasks.
Gemini (Not currently supported in Hong Kong) - Gemini, created by Google, designed to deliver detailed and accurate information, potentially integrating with Google's vast search database to provide real-time, up-to-date information.
CoPilot - Microsoft's AI integration which significantly enriches the work experience by combining the Office 365 suite with dynamic AI functionalities.
Perplexity.ai is an advanced search engine that harnesses AI language models and real-time web searching to provide accurate answers. It features real-time information retrieval, supports multimodal document uploads, ensures source transparency with citations, and allows interactive follow-ups, enabling users to swiftly find relevant information and refine their search results.
Midjourney - A tool that focuses on generating photorealistic images based on user prompts.
Stable Diffusion - A latent text-to-image diffusion model capable of generating photo-realistic images given any text input. It creates images with AI Image Generator (Text to Image) for free.
DALL-E 3 (Not currently supported in Hong Kong) - From OpenAI. It creates images based on your prompts. It can combine concepts, attributes, and styles.
Designs.ai - An AI integrated platform. Its Videomaker is an online AI video editing and production tool that allows users transform articles, posts, and text scripts into powerful, fully-edited videos.
Elai.ao - An AI-powered tool that lets users create videos with customizable digital presenters, using text.
Numerous.ai - A spreadsheet assistant that allows you to use ChatGPT to manage and interact with the spreadsheet data. No free edition available.
