Using programmatic tools to scrape database search results or downloading large amounts of data from databases for text mining can result in access being suspended for the entire University community. |

Many publishers and database vendors such as Clarivate Analytics, EBSCO, CNKI and ProQuest restrict data crawling and large-scale access to their content even though these activities are genuinely for research purpose. Excessive access to library subscribed resources will violate our license with the vendor involved, and it can lead to access suspension for the entire University community.
Our licenses with different vendors are distinct. If you are a student or researcher who has an interest in text analysis or text mining with using Library subscribed databases as a source, please ask the Library first to see if such usage is permitted under the license agreement.
