Mendeley allows you to easily organize all of the information you use in your research. When you have the PDF files of journal articles or other documents, you can add them to your library by simply dragging and dropping the file to Mendeley Desktop. These will then be synced with your online account, allowing you to access your PDFs from anywhere.

The videos on this page give further details on how to Import Documents and Organize Your Library.

Annotating PDFs

Using Mendeley Desktop, you can highlight and add notes directly to PDF documents. Just double-click on PDFs in your library to open them and access the annotation tools.

Import Documents

Importing documents into Mendeley can be as easy as dragging and dropping a PDF file. Watch the two-minute video below for details:

Kindle integration

Have you got a Kindle? There is a great free way to get the PDFs that you have saved to Mendeley on to your Kindle. It's called KinSync, and it's easy to set up.

Once you have connected your Mendeley Account to your Kindle, a folder called "KinSync" will appear in your Mendeley Library. Just add documents there, and you will be able to download the PDFs to your Kindle.

Best of all, KinSync will try to format the PDF so that it can easily be read on Kindle.
